Introduction

Dear Reader,

Hi, my name is Anand Sherman, and welcome to the Student Foreign Policy.  My mission is to provide a clean, no-nonsense interpretation of foreign policy on a country-by-country, situation-by-situation basis. I have realized that what is critical today is to shine a light on the international events that are more pressing, critical, and inflammatory, rather than the few overly publicized events.  Moreover, I’ve also come to the conclusion that in order for one to be a citizen of the world, they cannot simply be aware of its events; they must also know what they mean. In every publication, I will cover a topic I believe is of importance. The first section will be an introduction, where I discuss the issue at hand in its simplest form. Then I will launch into the “Background” section, which discusses the historical context behind an event. Then there will be the section inspired by Georgetown’s Stratagem Newspaper, the information and analysis section.  This will contain the basics of the event, followed by my interpretation of the countries involved and the world as a whole. Finally, there will be a conclusion. If and when circumstances allow, I intend to publish topical 200-500-word briefs, with intermediate larger papers and secondary briefs.  My goal is to truly help move forward foreign policy, and I intend to do that by giving my thoughts. But why my thoughts? Well, as a 15-year-old student, I feel uniquely advantaged to help impartially view the world. While also being someone who has a passion for history so I can better understand the context behind an event. Finally, I am a rabid consumer of news and information that helps me inform my opinion. However, this is no declaration that evidence and known truth won’t remain paramount in my papers over my own beliefs. Thank you for reading. I hope you decide to enjoy my work and embark on this journey.

Sincerely

Anand Sherman
